I was SO lucky to have the opportunity to learn from the amazing A.J. Dunlap at her photography workshop over St. Patrick’s Day weekend! Her bubbly personality, great energy, and clear determination and work ethic are so inspiring as a photographer and a participant of her workshop. I learned SO MUCH from this talented lady, not only about photography, but also about what I want out of my business! Her workshop helped me as a business owner, personally and professionally. We had the opportunity to participate in a styled shoot (my very first!) at The Sutherland in Wake Forest, and were treated very well by these amazing vendors! HOW BEAUTIFUL IS THIS SHOOT?! We were all squished up behind A.J. during the shoot, learning from her and shooting in our own styles at the same time! I did have to crop a few elbows out of some shots, and I am sure my elbows were in a couple of other photographer’s frames (lol- what we would expect when we are all gathered together taking the same shot!). I loved seeing all of the talented photographers’ pictures after this shoot. It is amazing to see different artists interpretations of the scene that we were all shooting. Some were bright and airy, others were dark and moody, and lots in between! I always try to edit my images to look consistent with my film images (unfortunately, I did not have my film camera on this shoot!), but it is fun to see my interpretations of the shots compared to all of my new friends! Loved this weekend workshop, and I would do it all over again! If you are looking to learn more about your business and your photography- A.J. Dunlap is the girl to call!
