2016 has been our best year yet at Elizabeth Alice Photography. I was sitting down with my husband the other day, thinking about all of the great parts of our year together. I realized that this year we have done over 50 photo sessions and 2 weddings! I started this business in November 2011, and we have come so far! I never dreamed it would get this big, and I can’t wait for 2017 to see what it brings us.

As always, my favorite part about this job is meeting new people and getting to capture the love in all of my clients’ families and relationships. I love seeing families grow and to get to know the people. I also love getting to know people I already know a little bit better by doing their photos for them. So many clients have been great this year about showing me the pictures in their homes, sending me Christmas Cards featuring the photos and sharing stories about giving the photos as gifts or about how excited they were to hang that brand new canvas. These little gestures make me so happy, and I am so glad that this business can bring people joy! It certainly has brought me joy.

I have bad about posting on my blog this year because of lack of time, lack of resources, and sometimes just plain being lazy. The extra photoshoots this year have been amazing for the business, but I will be honest, it has been hard trying to balance my work life (teaching), personal life AND photo shoot scheduling/editing. I made a list of New Year’s Resolutions, and I hope in 2017 I can do a better job balancing the 3. I hope this business continues to grow, and with that I know I will face new challenges with balance in my life. My husband, Dan, has been amazing and the best support over the years! He is seen at some of our photo shoots; helping me set up or even just dropping me off so we can go grab dinner or do something fun after I finish my shoot! He is the best!

So, all in all, thank you ALL for an amazing 2016! I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting all of my new clients and photographing all of your joyous moments in life. Here is to finding balance, growing businesses, and to all of the people & sweet and growing families that I get to see and photograph in 2017! Happy [almost] New Year!

Ok, seriously…this next one is not my best quality picture of the year, but…..really. How can you NOT smile while looking at this picture. I laugh every time…this is definitely one of my top 5 favorite pictures of the year!

My husband and I have had the amazing opportunities to travel to some beautiful places in our country this year, so I thought I would share some of my photos from our trips! Shout out to the Southwest Companion Pass….if you don’t know what this is, check it out, it will change your life for a few years! It was fun getting to use my camera for some landscape photography!
